Lhoist North America is a major supplier of lime, limestone and clay products to the North American marketplace, with locations throughout the U.S. and in Canada. They have a strong presence in most industries, including: iron and steel, chemical production, water and flue gas treatment, agriculture, pulp & paper, glass, building materials and civil engineering. Turner Mining Group will be providing overburden removal at two Lhoist sites, one located in Florida and the other in Texas.

As a national services provider, Turner Mining Group was attracted to Lhoist for the ability to service sites across the country. Additionally, by providing a suite of services, Turner Mining Group is a good option for a long-term partnership. “Lhoist has contracted Turner Mining Group due to our high level of professionalism and our ability to service them nationwide as well as providing creative solutions to complex problems they encounter regularly,” notes Ben Schwanberg, Business Development Manager.

Turner Mining Group will work through an initial 6 month proof of concept in Florida and Texas with a goal of reducing mining costs. From there they plan to move onto a 3+ year contract. The projects require larger equipment to replace blasting cost and effectively extract the material.
