History and
Vision

From our first contract to operating at scale across North America, our standards never change: people first, and production follows.

Built on a Simple Belief

We started Turner Mining Group with a simple belief. Mining works better when people are treated like people, not line items on a spreadsheet. Crews do better work when they are respected, when leaders are accountable, and when partners know exactly what is happening on their site every day. That idea guided our first contract, and it still guides how we operate today. People come first. Production follows.
The early years were about proving that our approach worked. We took on small contracts and focused on doing the fundamentals well. Strong crews. Clear communication. Reliable production. When something needed to be fixed, we talked about it openly and solved it together. That consistency earned trust, and trust earned repeat work. Before long, we were operating across multiple states and continuing to grow through word of mouth and results in the field.
Our early work focused on stripping, crushing, and overburden removal. Those projects quickly taught us that our partners needed more than a contractor to complete individual tasks. Mines run best when planning, production, equipment, and crews work as one system. As our experience and capabilities expanded, so did our scope. What started as contract services grew into comprehensive mining services, including drilling, blasting, load-and-haul, infrastructure, mine planning, and plant support, across multiple commodities and regions.

In 2017, our founder Keaton Turner set out to prove that belief in the field. At 27 years old, he had already spent years around mining operations and saw the distance created between the people writing contracts and the people doing the work, the ones actually responsible for results. Layers of management, and unnecessary red tape made it harder for crews and clients to work as one team.

“We set out to run a mining operation built on respect for crews and direct accountability to the partners who trust us with their mines. We knew there was a better way, and the results prove it every day.”

– Keaton Turner, CEO & Founder

That ideal defined how we would work with our partners. Instead of operating on the edges of a project, we began integrating directly into the operation itself. Our teams plan with site leadership, operate equipment alongside client crews, and share responsibility for day-to-day production. We focus on outcomes, not just output, because the success of the mine is the success of our partnership.

As our work expanded, expectations grew with it. Our role evolved from completing tasks to operating mines. We embedded teams into operations, shared planning and reporting openly, and committed to long-term partnerships that prioritize reliability and trust. Over time, the relationship naturally shifted. We were no longer viewed as a vendor brought in for a specific scope. We became a partner working side by side with our clients to run their operations.

Today, less than a decade after our first contract, we operate across North America with a large workforce, modern fleets, and long-term partnerships throughout the mining industry. Our teams support major operations across multiple states and commodities, including long-running copper operations in Arizona and multi-year partnerships in places like Idaho and Nevada. Our growth has never been driven by chasing projects. It has come from doing the work well and being asked to do more.

We are approaching our tenth year, and the next chapter is already taking shape. Our operations are becoming more complex. Expectations around transparency, performance, and reliability continue to rise.

“This is exactly where we want to be. The next decade will be more complex, the expectations will be higher, and we welcome those challenges. Our teams prove it on every site, every day, mines perform best when everyone responsible for production operates as one team.”

– Keaton Turner, CEO & Founder

Our future is built on continuing to strengthen that model. We will continue expanding our full-scope capabilities, developing the next generation of leaders from within our crews, and integrating more deeply into the operations of the partners who trust us. The goal has never been to simply provide services. The goal has always been to operate alongside our partners and help their mines succeed every single day.

This history and this vision are what make us North America’s Trusted Mine Services Partner.
